The African Daisy - Osteospermum



This Beautiful Variety is available in lovely mixtures and a multitude of colours, they make the perfect burst of colour to add to any seemingly bleak garden and are easy to care for.


The name Osteospermum is derived from Greek words, meaning "Bony Seed" due to the petite black seeds produced by the African daisy at the end of its flowering lifespan.



Growth: low height 12 to 36 Inches

Light Requirements: Full Sun & Part Shade

Pests: Aphids, Slugs.

Cold Hardy: Rarely

Propagation: Cuttings September / October


Origins: Africa & Arabia.

Perennial Family: Calenduleae, one of the smaller tribes of the sunflower/daisy family Asteraceae.

Annual Family: Dimorphotheca

Other Names: African Daisy - Osteospermum - Daisy bush - Cape Daisy
